Kosher Scrolls for sale - wholesale and retail

This is a picture of a photocopy of a scroll that we sell. It costs $100 (shipping included). The agent who brings these scrolls is called Itzhak Horovitz. He is Talmid Haham who studies in the Collel all day. He assures me that the scrolls are written by an expert scribe and are of the highest quality (Kosher and Mehudar). He points out how the letters are accurate and beautiful. For orders of more than one scroll we will give a considerable discount. The text of the scroll

In English language translation, the Torah verses state:
'' Listen, Israel, God is our Lord, God is One. Love God your Lord with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your might. These words which I am commanding you today must remain on your heart. Teach them to your children and speak of them when you are at home, when travelling on the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Bind [these words] as a sign on your hand, and let them be an emblem in the center of your head. Also '''write them on [parchments affixed to] the doorposts of your houses and gates'''.'' Deuteronomy 6:4-9 http://bible.ort.org
''If you are careful to pay heed to my commandments, which I am prescribing to you today, and if you love God your Lord with all your heart and soul, [then God has made this promise]: 'I will grant the fall and spring rains in your land at their proper time, so that you will have an ample harvest of grain, oil and wine. I will grant forage in your fields for your animals, and you will eat and be satisfied.' Be careful that your heart not be tempted to go astray and worship other gods, bowing down to them. God's anger will then be directed against you, and He will lock up the skies so that there will not be any rain. The land will not give forth its crops, and you will rapidly vanish from the good land that God is giving you. Place these words of mine on your heart and soul. Bind them as a sign on your arm, and let them be an insignia in the center of your head. Teach your children to speak of them, when you are at home, when traveling on the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Also '''write them on [parchments affixed to] the doorposts of your houses and gates'''. [If you do this,] you and your children will long endure on the land that God swore to your ancestors, [promising that] He would give it to them as long as the heavens are above the earth.'' Deuteronomy 11:13-21 http://bible.ort.org"

Checking the scroll

Because the scroll is tightly wound, it is easy for letters to become cracked or flake off entirely. As a scroll with a cracked or missing letter is no longer considered valid. ''Halakha'' mandates that every scroll must be checked by a qualified ''sofer'' ("scribe") twice every seven years, to ensure that it has not been damaged.

  • Mezuzah Doctor - Mezuzah Checking Software - After the scribe carefully writes or inspects the scroll, the writing is double-checked for textual accuracy using computer scanning technology. The computer scans the Mezuzah for textual errors and may catch something the scribe, who is only human, overlooked. This is an extra assurance of Kashrut, endorsed by the Vaad Mishmereth STaM as an effective additional method of inspection.
  • MORDECHAI PINCHAS - SOFER - Parchment can be made of the specially prepared skin of a kosher animal - goat, bull/cow, or deer. The hide consist of three layers, a) g'vil, b) k'laf and c) doksostus, but only the flesh side of the inner layer (a) and the outer side of the hairy layer (b) can be used for holy writings, (c) is not permitted. The method of cleaning and preparing the hide has changed over the centuries. During talmudic times, salt water and barley were sprinkled on the skins which were then soaked in the juice of afatsa (gallnuts). However they even used dog's dung for this purpose! Nowadays the skins are dipped in clear water.....
