It is possible to choose which length of Mezuzah case. Sometimes, parchment scrolls come in different sizes
so it is important to choose the right size of the Mezuzah Case. Nobody likes a situation where the scroll is too big and doesn't fit inside the case.
The beads are plugged into the mezuzah case by means of an inner rubber seal. Just pull the upper bead and insert the "klaf" (Parchment) into the Mezuzah case.
What is 925 Sterling Silver?
All silver mezuzahs in YalyJudaica.com are made of 925 Sterling Silver, with a matte finish. The 925 sterling silver stamp is imprinted near the upper loop of the Mezuzahs.
Sterling silver is an alloy of silver containing 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other metals, usually copper. The minimum millesimal fineness is 925.
Fine silver (99.9% pure) is generally too soft for producing large functional objects, and in Sterling the silver is usually alloyed with copper to give strength whilst preserving the ductility of the silver and a high precious metal content. Other metals can replace the copper.
Affixing
Two silver loops are welded both sides of the back of the mezuzah case.These loops serve the purpose of glueing or nailing (or screwing) the mezuzah case to the doorframe. This design goes well with narrow doorframes and is especially suitable for the inner doors of the house.
External Coating
All the Mezuzah Cases are coated with a shiny protective lacquer.It is advised not to scrub the Mezuzah case with strong toxic detergents that might disintegrate the lacquer.
